Privacy, terms & disclosures
This page explains, in plain English, what data Bedazzle collects, how your photos are handled, how we make money through affiliate links, and the rights you have. If anything here is unclear, email hello@bedazzle.app.
1. Privacy policy
Bedazzle ("we", "us") is a virtual wardrobe and personal-shopping tool. We collect only what we need to run the Service and we never sell your personal data.
What we collect
- Waitlist email. If you join the waitlist, we store your email address (and an optional style hint) so we can let you in at launch and send you updates.
- Account details. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we store the name, email address and profile picture they share with us.
- Your preferences. The styles and favourite stores you choose during onboarding, so we can personalise looks and prices.
- Your saved looks. The outfits and product details you save — not your photos (see section 2).
- Usage data. Privacy-friendly product analytics (pages viewed, features used) to understand and improve the Service.
Why we're allowed to (lawful bases)
Under UK GDPR we rely on: your consent (waitlist, analytics, optional personalisation), performance of a contract (running your account and saved looks), and our legitimate interests (keeping the Service secure and improving it). You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted processors to run Bedazzle, each handling data only on our instructions:
- Google and Apple — sign-in (only when you choose to use them).
- OpenAI — generates the written styling notes for a look from the names of the items in your outfit and your style preferences. We do not send your photos (see section 2).
- Neon (database) and Vercel (hosting) — store and serve the Service.
- PostHog (EU region) — privacy-friendly analytics.
- Retailers & affiliate networks — when you click through to buy (see section 4).
Some providers may process data outside the UK/EU; where they do, the transfer is covered by standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is active, and your waitlist email until you ask us to remove it or you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete everything at any time (section 6).
2. Your photos
This is the part people care about most, so we keep it simple:
If, in future, a feature needs to process your photo on our servers (for example, to render a true try-on image), we'll tell you clearly before it does, ask for your consent, and explain exactly what happens to the image. We'll update this page when that changes.
3. Terms of service
By using bedazzle.app (the "Service") you agree to these terms. Bedazzle helps you build outfits, preview looks, and discover visually similar clothing across retailers.
What Bedazzle is — and isn't
We surface products from third-party retailers and link you to them. We don't sell the items ourselves, hold stock, or process retailer payments. Prices, availability, sizing and product details come from those retailers and can change at any time — always confirm them on the retailer's own site before buying.
Your responsibilities
You must be 16 or older to create an account. You're responsible for the photos and content you upload and must have the right to use them. Don't upload anything unlawful, harmful, or that infringes someone else's rights, and don't misuse or attempt to disrupt the Service.
No warranties / liability
The Service is provided "as is" while in early access. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for retailer pricing or availability, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Changes
We may update the Service and these terms as Bedazzle grows. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
4. Affiliate disclosure
Bedazzle is free to use. We make money through affiliate links: when you click a product and buy it from a retailer, we may earn a small commission from that retailer or its affiliate network.
Where required, individual links may also be marked as sponsored or affiliated. This disclosure is made in line with UK Advertising Standards (CAP Code) and FTC guidance.
5. Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum:
- Session cookie (
bz_session) — a single signed cookie that keeps you logged in. Strictly necessary; can't be turned off while signed in. - Analytics cookies — set by PostHog to measure how the Service is used. These only load once analytics is enabled.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time; some features (like staying signed in) won't work without the session cookie.
6. Your rights & contact
If you're in the UK or EU, you have the right to access, correct, delete, export or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to it or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these — or to be removed from the waitlist — email hello@bedazzle.app and we'll action it.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
